Arrange the handmade glass pieces and stones freely, then create your own sand patterns with a small glass rake. Step away from the busyness of everyday life and take a quiet moment for yourself. Handcrafted at “in the margin,” a small glass studio in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, each glass rake and glass stone is created from the flame of a burner and paired with a natural wooden masu box and pure white sand. A small Zen landscape that fits in the palm of your hand. Gently draw patterns in the sand with the glass rake. There is no right or wrong pattern. As you move the rake at your own pace, your breathing slows and your mind begins to settle. The transparent glass catches the light like a crystal, casting delicate reflections and shadows across the white sand.
